The role of the ENP is a Senior Nurse that has a clearly defined duel role within the urgent Care Centre. The role consists of clinical, managerial and educational components as detailed. You will be trained to an advanced level to not only work autonomously within defined parameters to deliver care to patients attending the UCC without reference to a doctor, but also to be a regular Shift Leader within the department. Clinical: Autonomous practitioner for attending patients Act as senior Shift Leader To be a resource of clinical knowledge and expertise to nurses and doctors alike To maintain a very high quality of care for all attending patients To act as a role model for all nurses within the organisation Managerial: Develop and maintain a philosophy of nursing care for the ENP Work within NICE guidelines To manage staff against patient flow in order to meet targets Undertake and participate in the audit process To order and manage stock levels within budgetary constraints Educational: To be aware of current nursing trends and development in nursing To act as a point of reference and guidance for other nurses and doctors Current registration with the NMC as RN level 1 Five years post grad experience First level degree or equivalent Basic IT skills Knowledge of audit Working knowledge of clinical governance and evidence based practice Be up to date with research and clinical skills Be able to work autonomously and be part of a multi disciplinary team Have leadership, teaching, communication and outstanding personal qualities Competitive Hours of work: Night Duty, Weekends, Bank Holiday |
