Staff Nurse - PICU - Band 6

Our client is an NHS Trust based in Central London, they are known throughout the world for their expertise, standard of care and research success. As a specialist trust they only provide treatment for people with heart and lung disease. This means their doctors, nurses and other healthcare staff are experts in their chosen field, and many move to this hospital from throughout the UK, Europe and beyond, so they can develop their particular skills even further. They carry out some of the most complicated surgery, and offer some of the most sophisticated treatment that is available anywhere in the world and treat patients from all over the UK and around the globe. The paediatric directorate is based in Central London with this Trust. The post holder is expected to carry out all relevant forms of care without direct supervision and is required to demonstrate procedures, supervise qualified and/or unqualified staff whilst maintaining a safe working environment. The band 6 nurse will work closely with the Senior Nurse, senior nursing team within PICU and multi-disciplinary team members in monitoring and maintaining policies, standards of nursing care and staff development as part of the PICU as well as participating with the PICU development group. You will be registered as a RN1 (with PICU experience) or RN child of the NMC register Mentorship qualification or equivalent Good level of English language demonstrated through effective written and verbal communication Relevant Post Registration course appropriate to speciality or equivalent All applicants must be experienced and confident in the paediatric intensive care environment, hold a paediatric registration and a postgraduate qualification in the speciality or have equivalent clinical experience.
