Nurse Practitioner - Medical Practice and Walk-in Centre

This is a FIXED TERM position for ONE YEAR from MAY 19th 2008 and URGENTLY needs filling. About the Company: Our client is a leading independent provider of person-centred care to a broad spectrum of service users throughout the UK. Working in close partnership with local authorities, PCTs and NHS Trusts, they draw on extensive experience and expertise to deliver highly specialised tailor-made service solutions including residential, community, acute and primary care. The Job: You will work as part of a team of Nurse Practitioners within the Medical Centre. Establish inter-agency working where necesssary to ensure good communication increases quality of care for patients. Ensure that you own clinical practice is consistent with autonomous practice within the role. Job Details Amongst others you will be expected to perform the following duties:- - Assess patients - Make a diagnosis based on clinical guidelines etc - Give Health advice - Carry out nursing treatments and care such as suturing, plastering, minor injury care, advice and prescribe on medication - Referrals as necessary - Set standards for care by implementing protocols and establishing health education activities - Participate in research, audit, and development related to care - Create and seek opportunities to develop practice - Participate fully in clinical supervision - Maintain your own personal and professional development Qualifications RN with current/valid registration with the NMC Other qualifications related to the position ENB 998 - desirable but not essential Prescribing qualification - desirable with experience ILS or ALS essential Skills/Experience At least 1 years previous experience in a similar role Needs to always work within prescribed Codes and regulations Management and leadership qualities Flexible and show initiative Benefits
