Job description : Care UK is established as one of the country’s leading healthcare organisations. Increasingly, we’re focusing on delivering primary care through walk-in centres and out-of-hours, GP and prison healthcare services – all of which are setting new standards in terms of patient experience and clinical excellence.

Our service provides Out of Hours care to approximately 440,000 residents living in Luton and South Bedfordshire PCT areas. The Out of Hours period is from 18.30hrs – 08.00hrs Mon – Fri, all weekend and bank holidays. Our service operates when the GP practices are closed.

We are currently recruiting nurses who will be the first point contact care to telephone callers gathering information and providing advice and referring callers where appropriate to other professionals working in our dedicated primary care centre&rsqu! o;s, urgent care centre and home visiting service. You will be respons ible for maintaining comprehensive records at all times, for which training will be provided.

Qualifications
Essential Experience : Experience as a qualified nurse registered with the NMC, you’ll need to be friendly, approachable, a good team player and an excellent and clear communicator. Experience within a telephone triage setting, Accident and Emergency, Out Patients, or working in Primary Care e.g. Practice Nurse, District Nurse, Health visitor etc would be advantageous – and you need to be a committed to your own professional development as we will be.
