An opportunity has become available for a person with previous experience in Infection Prevention and Control to join the Integrated Governance Team of the Primary Care Division. Reporting to the Head of Nursing and Clinical services you will be responsible for providing specialist infection prevention and control advice and support to facilitate high quality care delivery across a range of Primary Care services. You will be expected to work at a high level using initiative and innovations to develop and implement tools in addition to auditing outcomes. This is a challenging and wide ranging role suited to someone wishing to make a real difference to the quality of care and improve outcomes for individuals using our services. Excellent interpersonal, negotiation and communication skills are essential, and skills in dealing with challenging and sensitive situations, some of which will be confidential in nature. The ability to work effectively as part of a team is required, as well as the ability to work as an individual. The postholder will be based at home and will be required to attend meetings in the Reading and Colchester offices. Travel to the Primary Care Division units based throughout the UK will be required which may involve overnight stays. This is a part-time opportunity of 19 hours per week which can be worked in a flexible arrangement. Salary and benefits package commensurate with experience • NMC Registered Nurse • Evidence of personal and professional development • Evidence of infection control study at level 3 – degree or graduate diploma • Previous experience in an infection control role • Knowledge of evidence based practice and audit techniques • Able to demonstrate highly developed specialist knowledge of infection prevention and control • Knowledge of creating systems and processes to ensure best professional practice and compliance and monitoring such processes • Knowledge of research and audit including implementation of findings and review of outcomes • Excellent organisational and leadership skills • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal • Good analytical and judgement skills • Evidence of applying current research practice • Able to work under pressure to meet deadlines • Understanding of project management methods • Ability to maintain and enhance effective working relationships • Ability to work with and influence members of a multidisciplinary team • Ability to contribute to, monitor and implement changes and improvements to services • Able to set and audit standards • Ability to plan allocate and evaluate own work and develop self to enhance performance of others • Ability to plan the work of a team and also to function as part of a team • Ability to teach/train/develop nursing and care staff • Excellent time management skills • Is familiar with the National Minimum Standards, NICE, CNST and other regulatory frameworks • Ability to understand key business issues that affect profitability and growth • Evidence of applying current research to practice • IT literate Leave25 days annual leave plus bank holidays Pension5% contribution by both parties Car allowance£4,000 per annum (subject to tax and NI) |
