Staff Nurses Band 5 & 6

Our well established and nationally recognized client is a leading independent provider of home care supporting older people with learning disabilities and mental health problems: as well as providing special care to young people with conditions such as eating disorders, self harming and those who need neuro care. Due to expansion they are looking to fill their many current vacancies.

Job Details
As a Band 6 staff nurse, you would need to comply with the above, but in addition, your responsibilities would also include screening for clients with substance misuse issues, provide clinical supervision for the nursing team, work with the team manager to develop protocols in line with legislation, work closely with the Detoxification and Treatment Unit, CARATS, Mental Health in-reach team, develop Blood Borne Virus initiatives (vaccines and phlebotomy).

Qualifications
RMN (Part 3 or 13) or dual qualified RGN/RMN
Certificate/Diploma in counselling
minimum of 6 months experience at Band 5 in either an inpatient detoxification or mental health or general inpatient setting

Skills/Experience
Knowledge of evidence based treatment options for substance misusers: Understanding of the Nationa Treatment Agency Models of care: Demonstrate interest/experience in addictions: Experience of running group sessions

Relapse prevention skills: Counselling skills: experience of assessing clients, able to formulate and deliver individual nursing care plans: able to maintain strong and clear boundaries when working with clients, an ability to speak one or more community languages of Birmingham
