Specialist Nurse Palliative Care - Band 7

This post gives specialist palliative care advice to patients, their families and the post holders colleagues. Acting as an independent practitioner holding a clinical caseload you must be able to give psychological and emotional support. The Palliative Care Team is referred over 800 patients per year from all specialities As a Specialist Palliative Care Nurse you will have additional duties: Facilitating high quality of care to patients and their families Providing specialist symptom control advice Supporting HCA’s in both acute and community settings· Assess, plan, implement and evaluate patient care Assume responsibility for provision of specialist care support and advice You will have full NMC registration as RN1, No ONP or adaptation nurses need apply. ENB285 or 287 or equivalent - Oncology / Chemotherapy Nursing Relevant post registration qualification Specialist palliative/cancer degree Recognised teaching qualification ENB 998 or equivalent Five years post registration experience of which 2 are in cancer palliative care Communication Skills in Cancer and Palliative Care Generous NHS package |
