This Operating Department Practitioner post is based at a well known hospital in central London. There are 14 operating theatres. A wide variety of procedures are performed and include urgent, emergency and even robotic surgery. This position would suit a theatre practitioner who is highly motivated, dynamic and looking for an exciting challenge. This is a Band 6 post. Particulary valued are good leadership skills and a willingness to support and develop staff. A post registration course in an area related to theatre/operating room would be considered very favourably. In summary, the theatre practitioner works closely with the ward manager and multidisciplinary team members. The position also deputises for Team Leader in the management of the clinical area. Imevitably this will involve dealing with complex situations and taking action in emergency or unforseen situations. The ODP/Senior Nurse provides specialist advice and support and facilitates a high quality and individualised care for the patient. This can be without supervision or along withte multi-disciplinary team Registered Nurse.
